The staff and committee have decided to make some changes regarding this event due to unprecedented numbers of children in our setting. However, these changes have also been made in order to take the children’s age and development into consideration, as in previous years, our younger children have often chosen not to participate in Sports Day or have found it to be too much with lots of parents and activities happening all at the same time!
This event will be held on Friday 12th July instead of our usual session and will only be available to those who will be leaving us in July to go off to primary school. It will start at 10:00am and usually takes around 1 hour and a half.
We had hoped to host a graduation party after the Sports Day events, however, we have since learnt that St. Johns have invited their new starters to a school picnic that day. So our intention now is to continue with Sports Day for the leavers and their families, and then those who need to can go straight from it to the picnic.
If we experience bad weather on the day, then we shall host a ‘Sports Session’ inside which will run like a normal session for the leavers.
For our younger children who are not leaving, we shall hold a themed week called ‘Sports Week’ so that they do not miss out. We will give more details on this closer to the time.
